R.I. P. Rashard

This is a poem inspired by my friend who died two weeks ago.

~The Cost of Living~
In a case of memories,
buried deep within this heart of mine,
lie a few cold wintry nights, and some days of bright sunshine.
The case has joyful moments, and many a carefree day,
and some bitter tears shed along the way.
There are some memories of people who, into my life were swept,
and memories of friendships broken,
and memories of friendships kept.
There are so many memories buried deep within my heart,
of treasures I wanted to retain,
of treasures with which I had to part.
These friends I had,
no longer around,
Those things I lost,
and then never found.
Those places I have left behind,
not knowing I was leaving
-Those are things I have written of under the cost of living.

LOVE

This week has been a good and sad week for me. A good friend of mine was killed in a car accident and so I have been humbled by life and how life takes unexpected turns and how it makes you stop and just be still. I seem to go through life and through the motions of it all and then some thing as earth shattering as a wonderful, amazing life no longer on this earth, life slaps you, and makes you see everthing is so temporary and how lucky I am with everything in my life.

Jax and I have been sick. I am over the flu and now this morning Jax woke on fire with a high fever and just feeling sooooo bad. The only upside was my being able to hold him ALL day and he was snuggie ALL day and he needed me once again like when he was a baby. We read story after story and enjoyed the 60 degree weather and we looked at his baby pictures and just spent time being together. A simple day but so rewarding for me. Jax is so amazing and I am so proud of him for growing up into such a good boy. I cried as I looked through all his baby pictures as I can remember each picture so vividly and can remember the baby smell and his bright blue eyes every morning and his smiles. Always happy to see me. He is just amazing.

Our house is filled with Christmas and we can't wait for Santa's arrival. It can't get here fast enough. I am VERY excited for Jax to see his bike and a few of his gifts. It will be a small Christmas but a great one.

I saw these pictures of Jax as a baby and I wantd to post them. I love these pictures so much. Such great memories and it's amazing to see how big he is now.

Hope all has a great week.

We love you!
