~On Sunday, June 22nd, Jax lost his first tooth. It was barely hanging on by a thread but I couldn't stomach pulling it and he wouldn't let any one doing it any ways so while eatting corn on the cob, pineapple shishcabobs and a hot dog he swallowed it. One minute it was there and the next minute it was gone. We were next door having a cook out and we laughed so hard. We looked EVERYWHERE for the tooth but figured he must've swallowed it. So, the tooth fairy brought Jax $2.00. It was a fun experience.
~Jax was a super helper as we moved this weekend. He worked so hard and I was so proud of him. He really likes to work and be involved and he got such great pride carrying things here and there and everyone praised him and he got to sit on the back of the truck with the others guys drinking water and lemonade and you could tell he felt so proud. He was so cute! He was drenched in sweat but still wanted to keep going.
~Max went to a good friend and he will have other doggie friends to play with so it was sad but yet happy for both Jax and I. Jax was okay with him leaving and gave him a big kiss and sent him on his way. I do look forward to having one less thing to care for. Can you believe, I, the animal lover, would say that?
~We went to "Meet the Teacher" and Jax didn't want to go but as soon as he got into his classroom he was more then excited and he hugged his teacher, Mrs. Parks, and then left her to play on the computer. He clicked right on the Yahoo icon and was ready to start an e-mail. Jax is more then ready to start school and I am more then ready to have him go. I am not happy about his riding the bus but he will be just fine.
~Nothing else to report. Jax and I are just getting ready for his big first day of school. We are going this weekend to shop for clothes and get a new back pack and blanket for nap time, new sneakers, lunch bag and he is excited to pick out what he is going to take for his lunch. All new changes that are all so fun! An exciting time!
~Funny things Jax has said lately:
A friend called to ask Jax over for a playdate. His response was:
"Well, I am not in the mood today for a play date. I think I will just stay home and chill out for a while."
I laughed so hard because it was such a grown up conversation, or so I thought. He did end up going over later to his friends house and he called her back up and said:
"Well, I am in the mood now. "Would you still like to play?". Hilarious.
~Jax grocery shops with me most of the time. We were looking at what beans where on sale and I needed a big can of beans but they weren't on sale and I didn't have a coupon for that size. So, when we went up to check out he asked the checker:
"Excuse me, when will these beans be on sale?" "We don't have a coupon for these and it's really frustrating!" and then he sighed in disgust. It was so funny. The checker and I couldn't stop laughing. The checker apologized to him for the inconvience and gave him a balloon to make up for it. That seemed to satisfy him.
AND MY FAVORITE THING:
Jax informed me last night:
"Mom, since I am going to school I am growing up. I need complete (and he said complete) privacy when I go to the bathroom and take showers. You don't need to come in to check on me when I take a long poop, you know! I am reading a book and you don't need to make sure I am not drowning in the tub!". From now on I am shutting the door!"
I just sat on the bed and said "Okay". "I am sorry if I am smothering you and I respect your privacy but you have to leave the door unlocked in case you need me." Jax just sighed and rolled his eyes and said "Mom I won't need you!". I didn't take it personally but I did feel sad that he isn't needing me so much in some things! I have to relax and chill out and remember he is 5 and almost a man!!! geesh!! what's wrong with me? :)
He sure is growing up but yet he still wants to snuggie at night and in the morning!! Wants his back scratched and when he really hurts himself he still comes running.
Have a good week~
