Today was a snow make up day and before school the PTA threw a Muffins with Mom party. It was great fun getting to see all the faces of the kids whom Jax talks about and meeting the parents. I found out that Jax is quite the social butterfly and he did seem to know every one of the parents that were there. I also found out that lots of the girls like Jax but wish he didn't have "boogers". "Well", I told the girls, "At least he doesn't have cooties!" They all laughed.
Here is my little/grown up bird at school eating muffins and juice. He was very excited to serve me and I was so proud of him. I love his teachers. They are so great with Jax and they love how he winks at them when they are teaching. He is a pure mess.
We go next week to get Jax tested for ADHD and I am quite relieved. Jax is so smart and tests above average with all his testing except for his motor skills. He just can't sit still and focus due to his high level energy and he isn't retaining as much info as he should because his mind and wheels are literally spinning. Jax is starting to realize that this is bothering him and after lots of testing with school staff, psyhcologists, etc.. we are going to the next step of having his pediatrician, whom I love, check him out. We are talking very low doses of medication that leaves the body quite fast to see which works for him and though I was sad and not wanting to go the med way I see that it would benefit him in so many ways. So, I am sad but at the same time looking forward to having Jax be still (maybe) and enjoy his life a little bit more.
We are now at Ava's playing. They are climbing trees and making pretend fires. Hard to believe a few days ago we were covered in snow and now it's nice out.
Happy Saturday!
