I had one of the best Thanksgiving's in years. It was so nice to have just me and the boys, no stress of having to be here or there if I didn't want to go, etc.... We slept until 9:00 and dressed all nice and believe it or not we were the first one's at Golden Corral which opened at 10:00.a.m. When we walked in every one was helping me with the boys, fighting over who would hold Ashton, playing with Jax and it was nice that I was able to get a whole plate to myself and actually eat most of it before a small crowd came in. Jax, of course, ate uncountable plates of their mac/cheese and I lost count of his ice cream cones as well. Jax told me "This is the best day of my life". I just laughed. It was so nice to be relaxed and sit back and watch the kids eat, laugh and just be in the moment. AGAIN! Jax met a cute little mexican girl and got her phone number. He has been begging me to call her all day. He doesn't even know her name. He calls her GC for Golden Corrall. They played and laughed and gave each other a huge, lingering hug when we left. The little girls parents were super cool and just smiled. Jax is quite the romantic. He NEVER mets a stranger.
Kmart was open and the parking lot was quite empty and I thought "Oh! I will run in and get the rest of Christmas off layaway!". 20 minutes later the manager came out and said he couldn't find any of my stuff because they were very unorganized. It was one of those moments where you could go either way. Be mad as hell and be reactive which I some what wanted to do or I could be very patient and be kind and show Jax that it was how life was! So, I stabbed the guy and.... teasing.. so I looked at Jax and took a deep breath and the manager and I went thru out the store and picked out the things I had on layaway. I actually got a better deal on some of the stuff so it pays to be kind... Whatever!!! lol...
We are big game people and Emily called and invited us over to eat more food and to play games. We had a blast. I LOVE that Jax can write and spell and I realized how smart he was when playing several of the games. He is really sharp and great at percentages and figuring things out. I was so impressed.
We finally went home and minutes, and I mean minutes, before Charlie Brown came on Jax passed out on the couch. It was all he could do to stay awake. Ash, on the other hand, was UP!! He is starting to be a night time baby.
TODAY
Today was another good day. Very chilly and very windy, though. Yesterday we were in shorts/tshirts.. silly weather. We had a big breakfast while watching Charlie Brown as I HAD to tape it.
We ran errands and I treated myself to an early Christmas gift of new tires for the van! Jax was so excited and they let him watch from a safe distance in the bay area while they changed the tires, etc.. Jax has decided he wants to be a "tire changer" when he grows up. I told him that was a fine job to have.
Ashton was wild today. It must of been the weather. He is saying "No! to everything and shaking his head "no". He giggled and laughed and has found a new screeching scream that gives him the giggles when he does it so he had us all laughing in hysterics through out the day. He seems to have learned that his sillyness gets peoples reactions and is playing on it big time. He is definately going thru seperation anxiety. He won't go to any one now. He really looks at some one and checks them out and if you have food he will go to you but he is very cautious. He will cry if I leave the room, pick up my keys, if I go to the bathroom, etc.. He just wants me to hold him 24/7. He is way spoiled.
We went to see the movie G-Force. I LOVED the movie and so did Jax. It was awesome. It's a must have. Jax has to do jobs to earn it so he is eagerly doing jobs this evening. I was really happy that Ash slept thru the whole movie and the sleep gods were blessing me.
So, so far that has been our weekend. Nice and quiet. Tomorrow is a big clean the house day in the morning and then off to do something fun. Hopefully, it's warmer.
