Thursday's lessons with Jax was about Traditions and Jax came up with an awesome new tradition and we decided to start the tradition on Saturday! Why not? So, we got up early Saturday, got all our jobs and grocery shopping done and then we set up the tent.
We have decided that in the month of October we will have a back yard camping trip/weekend. The Fair is in town and Jax didn't want to go (thank you!sigh!) so I told him we would make some of his favorite fair foods so we made roasted corn on the grill, carmel apples, samores, and spaghetti (had to eat something healthy).
Spending the night in the tent was very fun. I have to admit. I was thinking what am I going to do from 7:00 P.M. till they go to bed but we ended up watching fun movies like Mim's Island, and reading lots of books. The moon was full so we talked a lot about the moon and why they call it the "man in the moon".
Ash as way beyond hyper. There are no words to tell you how crazy silly he was. He just loved the tent. He climbed over everything, waved hi to our neighbors, he set up his own pillow and blanket and was ready to go. Ash didn't go to sleep until 1:00 a.m. Jax and I were so tired and wanted to go to bed but Ash got the giggles, the belly laugh kind, and just wouldn't settle. He finally literally fell over passed out! Very funny.
Sunday was an awesome day. Warm weather, with a constant breeze. I woke up at 7:00 and started to a huge breakfast and it ended up being a block party breakfast. I had all the windows open and the doors open and Brian next door came over "Kelly, your killing me!", so he brought food and ate, Kathy brought grits, and a few others came with nothing and just joined in. There were 12 of us. It was great fun.
We spent the rest of the day outside digging in the dirt, making ant farms, planting TONS of winter flowers with Kathy and then sitting by a nice fire until late.
Ash again got the major giggles and he didn't get to sleep until midnight. He slept most of yesterday. He was worn out.
I love days like this past weekend. It's what life is about. Just fun and being in the moment and now of life, things, family and friends.

Field Trip Friday
Friday was a really fun day. Everyone for different reasons came late so I was able to sleep in (yes!) and when Cameron and Eston got here it was about time to go to our very first Field Trip Friday!!! Hooray!
We loaded the van and went to see Toy Story 3. The kids loved it and drank tons of fruit punch and ate themselves into a popcorn coma. We came home and every one snoozed and then played outside. What a fun day for every one! And the weather was great as well. It's been in the 80's with a constant breeze and bright blue sky all day long. This is why I love the South! and North Carolina.
After the kids left we stayed outside till very late. We are lucky to have big flood lights in our back yard so we are able to play late. Perfect day~
