Getting Old

I am getting old.
1. I need bifocals to read now (sniff sniff)
2. If I don't dye my hair I am completely gray
3. I can't watch a complete tv show with out falling asleep
4. My kids have 16 names before I get to their right name

I realized this about a month ago and I keep getting reminders. Perhaps, because I am a little OCD in my thinking about it and aware of everything about age now. I am working on retraining the brain on it.

I am avid reader. I love to read. It's one of the most wonderful things to know how to do and I am so passionate about reading just about anything. I have always had good eye site but I noticed about a month ago that I couldn't read the small print as well and I had a hard time focusing on some things up close but to make things worse I couldn't read several pages with out my eyes feeling tired and strained.

Kathy asked me to read something for her the other day and I had to hold it way out in front of me. "Here, take my bifocals and see if it makes a difference" and by golly it did. I just got all teary. I panicked with that fear of getting old.

It's just I feel so young to have my body show that I am older. huuurmph.

Another sign of my aging is: "If I don't dye my hair, I am almost completely gray!"
Oh! the drama. Seriously, I haven't dyed my hair in about 4 months and if I have my long hair down I am gray central. Crazy.

TV just isn't worth watching because I can't get thru a show with out falling asleep. I know I have a lot going on but I have always been able to stay up till 11:00 in any position whether it be up right, laying down, criss cross apple sauce style, but I turn the tv on and I am out. Thank goodness my old but handy VCR tapes the whole show for me.

And finally, the last time I remembered my kids had their usual names of Ashton and Jaxson or if they are in trouble it's Jaxson Sumner or Ashton Spencer!!! But now it seems that I call them 6 names before I actually get the right name and they both are looking at me with hands on their hips waiting to see what name is actually spit out! Lately it starts out with
"Chlakelcamesdamnit and then the right childs name

Ch=Charlotte, la=lathan, kel=kellen, cam=cameron, es=eston, damnit=I can't get the right word out! and then of course, the lovely child I am trying to speak too.

Sigh!

So, while my spirit is young and willing I find I am starting to venture on the new beginnings of aging. In some ways it's terrifying but in some ways it's great. My mother and Grandmother were beautiful woman as they aged and If I can be just a little bit of how they looked and were I will be otay!

GHETTO

My friend Julie asked me the other day what I wanted for Christmas. I hadn't really thought about it. Later when I was washing dishes I thought about how I missed my Steve Perry posters (and my Erik Estrada posters. Leave that for another posting) and I went on E-bay and much to my excitement and horror I found these!

I couldn't stop laughing. I thought it was hysterical. Thanks goodness they are only $4 and change and shipping is cheap. There is a button company in the UK that puts EVERYTHING on a button.

Button's were so 1980's and I loved them. I doubt I will order them but it was fun for me to see my husband on some ghetto buttons.
