It's Snowing.

I am NOT happy.

Thanksgiving was for the birds

~~~~~~It's a nice chilly 33 degrees today. That's cold but no snow so I am counting my blessings.
I am finally feeling human again after being sick for almost 2 weeks now. I was so excited to have 5, count them 5, days off, which I NEVER get that many days off in a row and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when I closed the door to day care the sore throat and achy feeling I was ignoring reared it's ugly head and I got the flu/bug that is going around. It still amazes me how much snot can consume one's body in such a short time. I am never sick but it seems like when I am sick now my body just harbors in the delight of germs!
Even though I felt like poo Thursday we still went to Golden Corral and I was amongst the living dead. Seems every one had a cough, snot, kleenex, boogers, spreading germs around all the more at the buffet. Jax got his $9.00 worth of Mac and Cheese by eating 5 heaping plates of it and then three ice cream cones. The boy can eat. If I ate that much I would be in a carb coma but it just seems to give Jax more energy to bounce off the walls. Ashton was a happy camper, talking and waiving to every one and getting compliments left and right. I lost my voice, thanks to answered prayers from Jax, so I had to use a lot hand gestures to keep things under control.
I met Dawn and Tyler and my friend Nancy there. It was good to see them.
And I spent the rest of the weekend in bed..... The end!
That was my five days off. And in all honesty, I have a lot of anger about it. I know it's silly. But I want my 5 days back. I so wanted to do fun things planned and enjoy the spirit of the holidays and I didn't. I just wanted a break from work. Sigh...
On a positive note... the boys ended up getting sick so we stayed up stairs in bed, snuggling, watching the Tom and Jerry marathon and pretty much bugged each other in between sweet moments and aggravation.
Hurrrrupmh!
~~~~~~It was all I could do not to grab for the two pack of binkies at Food Lion. Ashton turned 2 on Nov. 19th and we ate Elmo cake and opened presents. Very calm and laid back. Non eventful but fun for Ashton.

At 2 the binkie goes and Ashton is having a horrible time giving it up. He will just sit and cry for hours with out it and he just mourns for it. Makes me feel bad. He's been clingy and not the happy Ashton I know. At the store last night Ash looked up right at the right time and the heavens opened and 5 or 6 different options of binkies were lit up and flashing signs of "Buy me", "You miss me", "I Miss You!" and
as I muttered "Damnit" to myself Ashton let out a wale of per devastation. Poor Ash, was feeling the way I felt losing my 5 days of fun. Sooooooooo...... I caved in. The thought of "choose yer battles" entered my head. I opened the package (Jax immediately looked for security and OCD about getting arrested) and the happiness that a little plastic rubber nipple gave to my sweet 2 year old was better then anything in the world!

Maybe I will try at 2 1/2 months?

P.S. Yes, I did buy the whole package of binkies. Security never came and the manager knows the Broadhurst family all too well! He even encourages opening bags of food for a calmer shopping experience. (I am not kidding)
